Video game set up

Postby DonDIII » Fri Mar 16, 2012 7:29 am

So I represent a local group that is interested in hosting a video game set up.We are getting together tomorrow to discuss the details and I will be posting more once we get more info for everyone.Just wanting to see how everyone felt about this, such as which games should be available, etc.I was thinking the newest one Street Fighter x Tekken would be a good for one set up.Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 being a good choice for the second,(trying to keep with the comic/manga theme).Any thoughts are welcome and we are looking forward to seeing a big turn out:)

We're going to be looking through the venue and schedule next week to see where we can fit you in. Do you have enough people to run the gaming room all day, each of the three days? Or would you prefer it be open in 6 hour (or so) increments? Also, I'd recommend Katamari Damacy or I Heart Katamari, just because I love those. Or any old-school games like Mario or Kirby.

I think we are gonna try for a one day affair but we can run it the whole day.

Ok you can either post here or send me an email, but we need details on how many people you will be bringing to run the event and a list of any equipment you will need (how many outlets, tables, extension cords, etc if you aren't bringing any).

I think the only thing we may need is tables and chairs.I dont know the layout as yet but we were going to bring three complete set ups,(tvs, systems, pads, sticks, etc), so there may be a need for extension cords.I already sent a message and I am waiting on a response to see if we need anything special. As far as games we were gonna probably run a Street Fighter x Tekken,(the newest game out so it will draw in more),Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3,(keeping with the comic/manga theme as well as running a popular one),and the third I am not sure as of yet.We will probably run casuals all day,(no tournaments just people playing and having fun),and perhaps even a few giveaways,(free tournament entry cards,etc.).I will let you know as soon as I have some more info:)

Ahoy! I'm with Don. I am working on getting my hands on two 6 ft tables and a bunch of folding chairs, though I'm SURE the hotel has those for use already, just need verification. My idea is three xbox360s, complete with controllers and arcade sticks alike. We have everything we need except permission to rent/use the space and AC power. ;)

Don, I have a few 50 foot extension cords already.

Someone yesterday said they might be interested in helping you guys run the game room and even borrow a console or two. Hopefully they get on the forums soon and coordinate with you.

We finished our walkthrough of the venue and decided that since your operation is relatively small, we can set up video gaming on one side of a large room and board/tabletop gaming on the opposite side. Keep us posted whether you get any outside help or more consoles or anything so we can accommodate you space-wise. Will you be able to get in Saturday morning by 9am? I think the gaming room will be closing by 6 or 7pm.
