You can call me Gale. By the time BAM-con rolls around I'll be 25 and I'm from southeastern New England, but I went to High School in northwestern MA! I've been cosplaying and attending conventions since 2003 (OMG, my 10 year cosplay anniversary is this summer!) and have met a bunch of amazing people through it all.
Last fall I started an "advice" blog called EffectiveCos
. It's actually a spin-off to a creation of mine I like to call The Cosplay Safety Project, which consists of my collecting all sorts of information on how to stay safe while making costumes and wearing them around conventions. I've got a facebook fan page for it, but until I find a graphic designer to help me out I don't feel I can do that much publicity ^_^; For the moment I'm focusing on the two panels I'm creating with the Project (Part 1: Costume Construction, and Part 2: Attending Conventions) that I hope to run at BAM-con, if they're accepted.
I also work as a contributing writer and occasional presenter for AnimeCons.com and AnimeCons TV
and am on the guest relations staff at ConnectiCon in Hartford, CT.
I'm especially looking forward to BAM-con so that I can meet in person Droo Fatagrafa, creator of Love Cosplay Magazine
for which I am a contributing writer.
